As long as I can remember I’ve had a paintbrush in my hand.

I am originally from New Zealand where I served my signwriting apprenticeship for five years and was self employed for a number of years before making the journey to England. Here I met my wife Lisa and started a commercial sign company until my retirement in 2025.

This has given me more time to pursue my love of traditional signwriting and painting and prefer to use repurposed materials and vintage saws for my artworks as these have real character and a story to tell in their own right.

I also enjoy running small group or 1:1 signwriting courses for anyone wishing to have a go.

When I’m not signwriting or painting I love to be on our narrowboat and enjoy the peace and tranquility that brings.
